In November the NHS in North West London was awarded national funding to continue improving maternity services in-line with new national maternity guidelines.
Before we start investing and improving services over the next two years, we want to hear from women who have recently used maternity services. To do this, we have today launched a  new online engagement site encouraging mothers-to-be and new mums to share their experiences of maternity care in North West London.
The attached press release has been issued and we would be grateful if you can share this engagement site link through your networks, so we can reach as many mums as possible.

The NHS in North West London was awarded national funding following work that has already taken place to improve maternity services across our eight boroughs.
In 2015, improvements were made providing all women with better access to senior doctors, a better environment to give birth in and more time with midwives whose numbers have increased since the changes were made. These improvements have made sure that North West London is already delivering many of the standards set out in the new National Maternity Guidelines ‘Better Births’, and with the help of national funding we can make sure we have better continuity of care during all stages of pregnancy, birth and support for mother and baby.

To help raise awareness of a digital engagement insight survey that is being launched by NHS North West London Collaboration of Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and NHS Healthy London Partnerships.

The CCG’s commission healthcare across the following Boroughs:

  • Brent
  • Ealing
  • Harrow
  • Hammersmith & Fulham
  • Hillingdon
  • Hounslow
  • Kensington & Chelsea
  • Westminster

The purpose of the survey is to help NWL CCGs and health and care partners understand, plan and deliver better digital health services to our communities.
Key areas of insight will include:

  • The online health services people value most, what would motivate them to use them, and what tools and services are most beneficial to which population groups;
  • What populations want from digital services;
  • How different population groups would like to interact with digital services; and
  • How best we can create and sustain demand through understanding the behavior of different population groups.

We very much need your help in gathering this invaluable information from you and your networks. Please direct them to our survey at http://www.research.net/r/NWLdigital

In a political world where leaks are routine, Theresa May’s announcement of an election campaign seems to have caught everyone by surprise. Charities will not have made detailed plans for an election, so it’s worth thinking about what we should be doing to make sure we’re part of the debate.

A Hammersmith and Fulham care provider has launched its first Community Grant scheme and is making available £250 to a community group or initiative that works with older people within LBHF. The group that can best demonstrate a need for additional support will be allocated the funds. Bluebird Care is a local provider of care in the home and Nathan Hartley is coordinating the scheme on their behalf. He says: The Community Grant will also come with support and advice. We want to work with a local project that gives older people an opportunity to try something new and that will add benefit to their lives.  Examples of the type of projects we are looking for could include gardening, leisure, recreational or musical activities.”
