After successfully applying to Hammersmith United Charities, Nubian Life Resource Centre Ltd is delivering the Valuing Independence Project for older people in the North of the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The project will work with local services to create a community of formally hard to reach older people engage in activities and events to improve their quality of life. The project supports older members of the community who rarely engage in organised activity.

Hammersmith and Fulham Clinical Commissioning Group (H&F CCG) has commissioned Sobus to manage a Health and Wellbeing grants programme for voluntary and community sector organisations to deliver projects in Hammersmith and Fulham.
The funding will be for 12 months and the success of this programme will be evaluated during the course of 2017/18 in order to determine whether it should continue in 2018/19.

At the last meeting of the Westminster Community Network, participants focused on identifying unmet community needs and how best to work together to address them. One of the outcomes of the network meeting was an agreement to set up a new Older People Services Providers’ Network. The aim of the network will be, to help providers share experiences, reduce overlaps in services and enable us to work more effectively together to meet the needs of older people in Westminster.  In time this might lead to joint bidding for funding and contracts. We would therefore like to invite you to the first of a regular series of Older People Services Provider’s Network meetings for voluntary sector organisations working in Westminster. Items for discussion will be; 

  • Services and Asset mapping
  • Collaborative Working
  • Setting terms of reference for the network
