Schools in England can now register to offer a summer school to help students recover learning they have lost during the Covid-19 pandemic. Schools are encouraged to bid for a share of £200 million in government funding to support children who have experienced the most disruption by offering two-week summer schools that provide a blend of educational, sport, enrichment and wellbeing activities, with a focus on pupils making the transition into year 7. The Summer Schools programme will provide schools with the flexibility to target the funding to whoever they think could benefit most. Schools will be expected to release plans of their summer schools to parents during May and June 2021. Click here
