We are excited to announce a range of initiatives to support your small charity to raise funds in Small Charity Week 2017. Fundraising Day is the perfect opportunity for small charities to engage with current and new supporters to get fundraising. Fundraising Day 2017 will take place on 22nd June, but lots of the activities and events have deadlines so get involved before then and get planning now.
The London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham will be running its popular Coach Trip Scheme again this year. This scheme enables local older people’s groups to have a day out by helping with the cost of hiring transport. A contribution of up to £300 will be awarded to successful applicants. To be eligible to apply:
- Applicants must be based in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and support people living in the borough
- Can show they support residents from all communities
- Should have a local management committee (of at least 3 members)
- Have their own bank account
- Have an income of less than £10,000

In partnership with the H&F Volunteer Centre we will be delivering this training event at Dawes Road Hub on 11th May at 11:00, 11am-1pm. The event is aimed at those wishing to become trustees or those who are already trustees and would like to develop their understanding of the role. The event will cover:
- Management or Executive – where do you draw the line
- Responsibilities and your accountability
- Relationship of the team and being effective
- Delegation
- What can be achieved

We will be running this fantastic training event on 18th April, 11am-1pm here at Sobus. The event will be delivered by Localgiving who have particular expertise in developing online fundraising methods. This event will run through the key steps of creating and delivering a fundraising plan, with particular emphasis on fundraising online. This session is most appropriate for organisations that have some experience in fundraising from individuals and who want to make their proactive fundraising activities more structured in the future. However it is open to all and we look forward to seeing you.

H&F CCG have been very impressed with the projects funded in 2016 and as part of their commitment to continue to work with the VCS they are putting £100,000 into the grants programme for 2017. Our next Local Hero campaign is from 1st – 30th April 2017. Localgiving will be awarding £5,000 in prizes to the causes supported by the top 20 fundraisers in April. Participants will be ranked according to the number of unique online donors from whom they secured sponsorship throughout the month. The top fundraiser will secure a prize of £1,000 for their chosen cause! For further information click here.

In collaboration with Crowdfunder and The Social Innovation Partnership, Trust for London and City Bridge Trust have launched a £100,000 fund available to organisations using crowdfunding to raise funds and deliver projects that will address inequality and lift people out of poverty in the capital.
Called Improving life for Londoners, this fund will provide up to 50% of the target (to a maximum of £10,000), with projects expected to raise at least the first 25% from the crowd.
