My mailing lists have been allocated some £10 Tickets for Pins and Needles at Kiln Theatre.

Pins and Needles is a Rob Drummond play that explores the politics around vaccines, and the human stories behind them. Rob Drummond, whose plays are ‘utterly unpredictable’ (The Stage), explores the politics around vaccines, and the human stories behind them.

CAUTION: Contains truth, lies and misinformation. You decide.

Rob is putting science and scepticism to the test in his new play. For research, he speaks to Mary, a mother trying to make the best decisions for her family, Robert, an angry son who distrusts institutions, and Edward Jenner, the father of modern vaccinations. The more he listens, the more he struggles to keep his own subjectivity off the table, which begs the question – how do you know who to trust?

The £10 tickets are for all performances from Thu 19 – Wed 25 Sept

(Tickets must be booked by Sunday 22 September)

You can also get £5 off all tickets for performances from Thu 26 Sept – Sat 12 Oct

Registered charities that work to tackle family problems or problems facing one or more of its members can apply for grants of up to £5,000. Funding is available for both capital and revenue grants as well as grants for core funding and projects-based grants. The funding is being made available through the Kelly Family Charitable Trust which actively encourages applications from relatively new organisations to help them become established. The trust prefers to support charities whose income is below £500,000. However, larger charities with pioneering pilot projects will be considered. Grants are awarded twice a year; the next application closing date is the 1st March 2025. Funding of up to £5,000 Available to Tackle Problems within Families (UK)

The ISDN Switch Off may seem complicated, but it’s simpler than you think. When you work with Lily, we’ll answer all your questions and solve any worries.

For now, we’ve responded to your top 5 questions that’ll clear some confusion and prepare you for the digital transformation.

  1. What is the ISDN Switch Off?

The ISDN Switch Off refers to BT Openreach’s nationwide phase out of ISDN and PSTN services. Residential and business properties will use newer technology, including hosted phone systems and fibre broadband

  1. What is the PSTN and ISDN?

The Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) is a communication network that uses copper lines to support phone calls. The Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is a digital communications system that transfers speech and data over the PSTN.

  1. Why is the ISDN Switch Off happening?

The ISDN and PSTN infrastructure has become obsolete and difficult to maintain. It no longer supports our digital world and lacks the flexibility, cost-savings and efficiency a fibre network provides.

  1. What is the meaning of stop sell?

Stop sell refers to areas that can no longer buy or sell Wholesale Line Rental (WLR) products. These include analogue or ISDN phone lines. The final stop sell ended in September 2023. Businesses can continue to use WLR products until they’re withdrawn in 2025.

  1. What is the best replacement for my current phone system?

A Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone system allows you to make calls over the internet. A hosted phone system offers a range of modern features that’ll boost productivity, cost savings and flexibility in the workplace.

Grants are now available to support children and young people in the UK experiencing a crisis or emergency.  The grants which are made available through the BBC Children in Need Emergency Essentials programme support families with children up to the age of 17 who are living with financial, health and social difficulties by providing items that meet children’s most basic needs, such as kitchen appliances, furniture, baby equipment, beds, clothing, and other items and services that are critical to children’s wellbeing. Applications must come through a registered referral agency supporting the family or young person.
