Grants of up to £5,000 are available to registered charities to fund equipment and services to support disabled and disadvantaged children under the age of 13 across the UK. The Toy Trust fund helps disadvantaged children and their families to alleviate suffering; support children through awful experiences; encourage achievement through adversity; purchase vital equipment; provide care; bolster existing initiatives; initiate brand new projects; and satisfy basic needs. Groups that have carried out some form of effective fundraising by themselves are particularly encouraged to apply. The next deadline to apply is mid-February 2023for the March meeting of Trustees. Registered charities in England and Wales can apply for funding for projects that help disadvantaged and disengaged young people. Priority is given to projects designed to help disadvantaged and disengaged young people in the age range of 16 to 30, in England and Wales to pursue pathways to Education, Training and Employment. There is no minimum or maximum amount and projects can be funded for more than one year. The next closing date for applications to the Peter Cruddas Foundation is the 1st March 2023. We are looking for someone who is empathetic and confident to engage and support conversations around matters relating to death, dying and bereavement with both carers and professionals. You will also be a very organized individual, great at administration and have excellent IT skills. We are keen to attract former carers to join our team.

‘Many years ago I was going through one of the worst periods of my life – both personally and professionally. Absolutely everything that could go wrong did and all at the same time. We were very sad to hear that Mary Hennessy passed away on Sunday 18th December. 

Mary was the Centre Manager of the White City Community Centre and so much more – organising, signposting, supporting and at the core of so much activity across the estate for over two decades. Mary had been unwell for some time but was working and busy with Centre and community activities even last week.

LinkedIn is inviting applications to join its Ad Grants programme, which provides free LinkedIn advertising to UK not for profit organisations focused on gender and racial equality, economic opportunity for professionals that are encountering barriers and environmental sustainability. Ad Grants can be used between February and June 2023 to: build awareness/provide education about a priority issue; support large-scale initiatives; recruit volunteers; hire talent; attract corporate partners; and generate donations. Grants of up to £20,000 are available to local not-for-profit groups that are building power within their community and campaigning for long-term change on issues affecting peoples lives. The Civic Power Fund’s Community Action Fund aims to help community organisers who are tackling injustice and exclusion, to empower people to improve their lives and their communities and dismantle the barriers to racial, economic, gender, disability, migration, climate and LGBTQ+ justice. Priority will be given to organisations led by people with lived experience of the injustice they are trying to overcome.
