For groups that would benefit from attending a ‘Meet the Funder’ event delivered by The London Community Foundation for our Save London Lives programme. The session will support organisations to understand the criteria and focus of the programme, how to complete the application form and provide an opportunity for organisations to ask questions on a one to one basis before the programme closes on the 10th of September 2018.

Save London Lives, part of the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund (ESDF), aims to build a better and more robust community response to youth violence in London by increasing the impact and resilience of organisations working to reduce violence among young people across London. The fund will encourage and support locally based solutions that are developed and delivered by a range of organisations, working together in areas across London.

Through this fund we will provide grant funding, capacity support and networking opportunities to organisations in London who are responding to youth violence under at least one of the following three themes:

  • Trauma
  • School
  • Family

Grants of up to £20,000 are available over two years, and organisations operating in any London borough with an income of under £500,000 are eligible to apply.

Inter Faith Youth Trust - Banner

The Inter Faith Youth Trust, the only UK charitable trust solely to fund inter faith projects for young people is offering Grants of up to £500 as part funding for projects or activities. Priority is given to projects that: Actively involve young people, promote positive action are Non-statutory organisations, Focus on children and young people aged 11-25. Projects supported will be focused around Inter Faith Week, the 11th to the 18th November 2018. Grants are awarded for proposals for inter-faith activities involving children and young people from Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and other faiths and those of no formal faith in understanding and co-operation. More information, examples of activities and tips on how to make the most of Inter Faith Week can be found in the Toolkit available to download from the website.

 Local organisations are being encouraged to bid for funding for projects to get more people cycling - Banner

Community groups in H&F are being encouraged to apply for grants for schemes to help get more people cycling.

Transport for London’s Cycling Grants programme, now in its fourth year, helps groups who are traditionally under-represented in cycling, to get pedalling.

The scheme is managed by Groundwork London and this year has £240,000 available to help up to 30 groups deliver new cycling initiatives.

These can be anything from courses teaching basic cycle maintenance, to guided rides and more. Projects will receive up to £10,000 over three years.

Applications now open at www.cyclinggrants.london  and close on 17 September.

Please support this worthwhile crowdfunding effort for party in park, for local kids from families in housing stress.

Making this event for the families we work with at Shepherds Bush Families  Project , as well as the wider community in H&F. The party will be held in Ravenscourt Park on 22nd August.

The party in the park will consists of fun games including: Giant Jenga, Connect 4, Skittles, we will have face-painting, children’s tattoos, art activities and a tombola stall with great prizes, free water and snacks will also be available. With the exception of the Tombola all activities are free of charge. We are also hoping families will bring a picnic and share their day.

We are not raising a large amount of money, so any donation, even as small as £2 is very helpful.

The Work and Health Unit (WHU), which is jointly managed by the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department of Health and Social Care, is using a £4.2m Challenge Fund to test new approaches that can help people experiencing mental health and/or musculoskeletal (MSK) issues stay in work.

They are looking to fund around twenty Initiatives which will improve their understanding of what works in one or more of the following areas:

  • Helping people stay in work by increasing their ability to self-manage their conditions.
  • Helping people access advice and support about what sort of work they might be capable of doing given their wider needs and circumstances.
  • Developing new approaches to help employers and individuals develop workplace solutions, or ways of working that facilitate greater participation of people experiencing these conditions.
  • Improving systems by joining up services to strengthen communication, liaison or joint action.

We welcome applications from employers, charities, social enterprises, local authorities, health bodies and others from across England, Scotland and Wales.

The deadline for receipt of Challenge Fund applications is Friday 17th August at 17.00. Projects are anticipated to run between October 2018 and February 2020.

Banner for Mayor's Sports Funding

The Mayor of London is committed to supporting European Londoners in the light of the UK leaving the EU.  As part of this work, we will be supporting civil society to engage with European Londoners about the Government’s proposed Settlement Scheme and reach out to those groups most at risk of marginalisation. We have now launched our pilot micro grant scheme to support this important work.

City Hall will provide micro-grant funding of up to £2,000 to community groups and small civil society organisations with demonstrable expertise and reach to deliver outreach activity on the settled status scheme, providing information and advice to vulnerable European Londoners.

Global Giving Crowdfunding training

GlobalGiving is the largest global crowdfunding community connecting non-profits, donors and companies around the world. Apply now for September Accelerator training programme.

Charities will receive free online training in digital fundraising and have access to GlobalGiving’s fundraising tools and resources. You’ll then be entered in to a 3-week crowdfunding campaign in September to raise at least £4,000 for your chosen project. There will be match funding opportunities, bonus prizes and graduates will receive permanent GlobalGiving partnership.
