Our two local MPs, Ben Coleman and Andy Slaughter, have agreed to meet with local Disabled residents on Wednesday 28th May, at an event organised by the AoD Members Forum. The meeting will be held at the school hall (accessed via the AoD Our Place iron gate), with doors opening at 6:00pm and the meeting running from 6:30pm to approximately 8:00pm. We would be very grateful if you could help us spread the word by forwarding the information below to your members, service users, and supporters.

These proposals are serious – they could mean significant cuts to DLA, PIP, Carer’s Allowance, and other vital benefits. One of the examples is that a proposed shift to a new ‘4 points’ system could drastically reduce support for many people currently scoring 2 points in PIP assessments. This is not a party-political issue – it’s about protecting our rights, our independence, and ensuring that Disabled people are not pushed further into poverty and debt.

Please come along to hear directly from our MPs and ask whether they will stand with us to oppose these cuts.
