The benefits of being outside in nature are plentiful – stress alleviation, relaxation and the reduction in symptoms of depression are just a few. It also helps social interaction so you make friends more easily and feel less isolated.

Why don’t you join us for four weekly, free 2-hour sessions. Slow down and reconnect with yourself and your environment in this nature-based programme.

Typical activities include walks, some light conservation work or gardening. This is combined with a range of creative activities such as painting,  lino cutting, tie-dye or whittling. There will be time to talk and share collective struggles and the group form a supportive network of new friends that last beyond the programme.

“The programme has helped me see more of me and less of my disorder. It brought back my identity, as I remembered I have interests that I thought I lost due to my disorder. It helped me refocus on a task, activity or learning process and had a really positive impact on my wellbeing”, a young person who attended our programme.

The programme is for 16-25 year-olds, starts on Sun 6th November 2022 and runs for 4 weeks from 11.00-13.00 at Chiswick House & Gardens, Hounslow.

In the current environment capacity building is ever more important – in fact critical! We need only need to survive inflation, we need to provide even more support to our communities which in turn is placing pressures on funders. Funders themselves may be facing depreciation in their investments –and this follows Covid. So in real terms money is very tight not just tight. Consequently, organisations will have to show what they can do and how they will remain sustainable even in the short term.
Capacity building is not just about the capacity of a nonprofit today — it’s about the nonprofit’s ability to deliver its mission effectively now, and in the future. Capacity building is an investment in the effectiveness and future sustainability of the organisation. Read on
