Job Opportunity — Support Worker

HF Mencap are recruiting for a Support Worker

Salary: £10.55 per hour
Hours: Full or Part time hours
Location: Hounslow – Hammersmith and other surrounding areas.

Job Summary
To support people with learning disabilities in their personal, social and health care needs as required.

To work as part of a team, and closely with families, friends, advocates of the people you are supporting.

To liaise with other health and social care professionals ensuring people are supported to lead the lives they choose.

To work within the policies and procedures of HF Mencap and follow instructions as determined by senior support staff and your line manager.

 

In accordance with HF Mencap’s Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures, this position requires an enhanced DBS check and will require you to complete Safeguarding training within three months of appointment and refresher training thereafter

Vaccination Pop up & Bus Operational Management Plan

Overview of the plan:

•Plan to increase capacity for vaccinating in low vaccination uptake areas by setting up walk–in Pop–up (fixed sites) vaccination hubs in community centres & deploying a vaccination bus

•Initial 4 week programme

•Creating additional vaccination capacity to bolster Novotel mass vaccination site pax

•Targeted comms to residents in surrounding area, mainly council estates•Buses/Pop ups to stock Astra Zenica(due to clinical governance issues with storage of Pfizer on buses) until authorised to stock & distribute Pfizer

•Clinical & admin staff provided by the NWL Clinical Commissioning Group•Security, marshalling, Site management, operational planning organised by H&F Covidresponse team

Refugee Week at H&F: FREE Virtual Workshops

To mark Refugee Week, we are running a series of free virtual workshops from Monday 14th June to Friday 18th June. They will be hosted on Zoom by Hammersmith & Fulham Council and will cover a range of topics relating to refugees and asylum-seekers, including employment, wellbeing and rights.

These events are open to all, but are particularly targeted at refugees and asylum seekers.

The Sylvia Waddilove Foundation UK

The foundation is accepting new applications to its COVID-19 Emergency Fund. Grants of up to £1,000 are available to help small to medium sized organisations manage the financial impact of the pandemic, either because of increased demand for their services or loss of income. The fund is targeted at organisations in a critical position. To be eligible organisations must be a charity, CIC or registered society with an income below £500,000 and operate in one of the following areas:

• Education relating to non-domestic animals
• Visual and performing arts
• Medical research
• The relief of disability or severe illness
• The accommodation of those in need

National Lottery Community Fund

The National Lottery Community Fund is distributing emergency grants of up to £10,000 to support organisations in England to continue to deliver services to communities affected by Covid-19. Funding can also be used to help organisations overcome any acute financial difficulties they face as a result of the pandemic. Applications are invited from voluntary or community organisations; registered charities; constituted groups or clubs and not-for-profit or Community Interest Companies.
