We are excited to announce the launch of a new grants programme, the Loved and Wanted Fund, which is part of the Mayor of London’s Loved and Wanted campaign.
The Fund will offer grants of up to £60,000 for activities between February 2026 and March 2028 to 15 venue-based community and faith organisations to further strengthen relationships between London’s diverse communities and to improve access to services. This grant will fund activities that range from hosting events to improving access to mental health, employment, financial support and other relevant services.

The GLA Community Engagement Team will be hosting informational webinars on Microsoft Teams for organisations who would like to learn more about the fund. These will start next week and run through 6 October—registration is through a simple form on the Loved and Wanted Fund webpage https://www.london.gov.uk/loved-and-wanted-fund.

Deadline for Expressions of Interest: 11.59pm on 19th October 2025

We’re announcing the launch of an exciting and ambitious new programme, London Resilient Communities!

London Resilient Communities is a programme designed to empower communities and strengthen resilience across London. The programme will build on the first ever London Community Resilience Toolkit and pilot project exploring the development of Community Resilience Hubs.

Come and find out about grant funding, training, and wider support by registering here.

We need your help promoting this programme to organisations like yours—far and wide. Please include a link to the webpage within the caption of your social media post.

This event and programme are facilitated by Groundwork, British Red Cross and London Resilience. It is part of a series of promotional events running from September to November 2025. Please let us know any upcoming events with voluntary, community and faith partners that may be relevant.

Let’s work together to help improve the resilience of London’s communities.

The Fulham 10k race, held by RunThrough and presented by Nuun, is on Sunday 16th November, 2025. The race start time will be 9am and the event has an estimated finish time of 11am.

A map of the route and associated road closures can be found using the links below:

https://www.fulham10k.com/course/

https://www.fulham10k.com/road-closure/

Advanced warning signs will be in place 2 weeks prior to the event, warning of disruptions between 6:00am and 12:00pm on the day of the run. All impacted residents are sent a letter 6 and 3 weeks ahead of the event explaining the details of the road closure timings. There will be a residents hotline and information section on the website for impacted residents.

We would actively like to support any local causes with charity places and welcome any local causes to get in touch and receive free charity spots for the run. Please let me know if you know of any potentially interested causes.

Over recent years we have seen companies from all industry sectors take a pro-active approach to these local events, utilising the event to help promote their services, products, internal wellbeing programmes, and even to drive their corporate social responsibility and links to their chosen charity partners. If you’d like to find out more on becoming an event partner please let me know, and I can introduce you to our partnerships team.

If there are any major concerns at this point, please do let me know so that we can seek to resolve them. I will be available to assist at all times, however, if there are any major concerns, if they could be flagged as soon as possible then it would be greatly appreciated. If you have any other questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Would you like some practical strategies for how to embed inclusion into everyday volunteer management?

This event will explore how we can create and develop peer learning opportunities that drive meaningful inclusion in the workplace.

Peer learning is a powerful, people-centred approach to change that invites us to learn from each other, and creates a space where insight and shared challenges become tools for growth. It also helps deepen inclusion and strengthen team dynamics, especially in diverse volunteer settings.

At this event we will address the challenges and offer solutions in fostering psychological safety, embedding allyship, broadening volunteer participation, and responding to lived experiences of exclusion.

Are you keen to talk though issues with other Chairs who share similar challenges and can share experiences and ideas? Do you want to build a network of Chairs who you can chat to?

We’re pleased to offer monthly face-to-face peer support sessions in London, designed to offer you support and help you build a network of Chairs you can call on for ideas, and encouragement.

This month’s session will be on 23.10.25, 5.30-8.30pm, chaired by the co-chairs of Board Racial Diversity UK, Lena Bheeroo and Dalton Leong. Case study theme: Co-chairs of a new charity come together for the first time, needing to not only build their board, but also develop a strategy for a sustainable future. With their inspirational founder stepping away, how do they keep momentum? What if funding runs out? When does succession planning start?
