The London Historic Buildings Trust (LHBT) is the Capital’s only dedicated Building Preservation Trust, working to support communities to save their heritage. We have an exciting opportunity that provides an opportunity for Londoners without any necessary prior experience to delve into an historical subject of their choosing – a place, building or person – and to be paid to carry out a research project.
As part of the programme, 6 candidates will have a day of training and site visits in London, including a visit to the Grade II* former Huguenot house and synagogue at 19 Princelet Street and session with the archivists on research techniques at the London Archive. They will then be paid for 35 hours of project work and research on their chosen topic. Mentoring will be available throughout from LHBT’s team. The project is generously supported by Historic England through their Regional Capacity Building Grants.
