Jobs

Part-Time Job Vacancy: 3D Voice Project Officer

3 days per week

Salary: £30-34k pro rata

Duration: Permanent (funding secured for 3-5 years)

The project:

3D Voice

Developed, Diverse, Dynamic

3D Voice aims to tackle the significant underrepresentation of the VCS, particularly BAME led VCS organisations in local service development and engagement opportunities, resulting in a power imbalance, where organisations feel marginalised and unable to influence local decisions and services that impact their clients.  Evidence demonstrates that despite a range of initiatives to adjust services to ensure they are equitable for all, we know that many services continue to lack cultural sensitivity, reducing their relevance and attractiveness to those who need them most.  Better engagement of residents through local, trusted organisations that are ideally placed to advise, inform and shape local solutions, will result in better outcomes for all.

3D Voice will build BAME VCS leaders’ skills, confidence and capacity to be engaged; supporting, uplifting and empowering organisations to participate at a strategic level with statutory bodies, and address VCS apathy and mistrust of statutory sector led engagement opportunities.

3D Voice will also scrutinise and drive improvements in local engagement practices through developing a replicable engagement review and toolkit and a coordinated overview of engagement opportunities.

The role:

Working 3 days a week and liaising closely with the Sobus team, the 3D Voice Project Officer will

  • Reach out and engage with local VCS organisations, with a focus on BAME led organisations who are not currently involved or represented in local engagement opportunities
  • Develop and manage a new VCS Engagement/Opportunity Forum
  • Explore engagement opportunities with statutory sector partners, and support them to improve the accessibility of these opportunities
  • Review those engagement opportunities to identify good practice and areas for improvement and develop an “engagement toolkit”

The person:

We are looking for an individual who can engage effectively with a broad range of local VCS organisations, particularly with BAME led organisations who are not currently engaged in local opportunities.  The ideal candidate would have a good track record of building strong working relationships across different communities.

We would particularly welcome applications from individuals who represent the diversity of the borough.

For more information or an annual chat about the role, please contact Sue or Nigel at Sobus on 020 7952 1230.

Please click here for the job description, application form and equalities and diversity monitoring form.

Closing date for applications: 5pm, Friday 18th November

Interviews will be held Tuesday 28th November

Community Open Day Friday 23rd September 2022

We are hosting a Community Open Day alongside our partners CGL (Alcohol Service) and Advance (Women’s Service) on Friday 23rd September at Sands End Arts & Community Centre.

We will be starting at 1pm, there will be activities for young children, light refreshments and a free raffle to win a hamper packed with goodies!

The aim of the event is to showcase services in the local borough so that residents can be more informed on what’s on offer in their local community. There will be invaluable information on the cost of living provided by the local CAB. Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank,  Green Doctor and SASH will be in attendance on the day to provide the local residents with information about their services and how to access.
