Funding for Projects that Combat Abuse & Violation of Human Rights (UK)

UK-registered charities that work towards combating abuse and violations of human rights can apply for grants of up to £20,000. Applications are particularly welcomed from charities working to support migrants, refugees and asylum seekers; criminal justice and penal reform; and human rights, particularly access to justice. The funding is being made available through the A B Charitable Trust. The Trust generally makes one-off grants to charities registered and working in the UK with annual incomes of between £150,000 and £1.5m that do not have substantial investments or surpluses. Emergency Funding for Homeless Organisations (UK)

Local homelessness organisations that require emergency financial assistance can apply for grants of up to £100,000 to the COVID-19 Homelessness Response Fund. A total funding pot of £5.5 million is available. The funding aims to provide emergency financial assistance to local homelessness organisations, preventing closure, service cuts or staff redundancies threatened by increased operational costs and a loss of fundraised income due to the Coronavirus. It will also support organisations that have needed to expand or adapt their services in light of COVID-19 to support people experiencing homelessness safely and effectively. The funding is available to organisations with a turnover of less than £5 million per year, The deadline to apply to the Comic Relief funding stream is the 14th September 2020 for decisions made in mid-October. Grants of up to £50,000 Available for Community Projects (UK)

Small charities and community interest groups with innovative ideas that benefit their community can apply for funding of up to £50,000 for projects that build more connected, more resilient communities; and give people the tools to become more financially independent. The funding is being made available through the newly re-launched Aviva Community Fund. Every three months from January onwards, £250,000 will be split equally among Aviva’s UK employees to donate to the projects that matter to them most. The closing date for this funding round is the 13th October 2020. Aviva have teamed up with the fundraising platform Crowdfunder and applicants can add to any donations they get from the Aviva Community Fund with public donations. Click here

The £1m Phoenix Fund will support Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic charities and groups in England that are working in the heart of their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Standing Together (ST) coordinates the ground breaking coordinated community response to domestic abuse in West London. ST are co-founders, alongside Peabody and Gentoo, of the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) which was founded in 2014 to promote better practice, policy and research in relation to housing and domestic abuse. DAHA is made up of a small team of five who are supporting housing providers in the UK to acquire DAHA accreditation. We offer the Safe at Home domestic abuse course, bespoke training for housing providers.

We are seeking an experienced and expert associate trainer(s) on a short-term contract (up to six months) to further develop our training offer to help meet an increase in demand for training courses and delivery. The associate trainer will design and develop new accessible and engaging training courses that includes producing all the content, activities and resources required for delivery by the DAHA team and our pool of associate trainers.

People’s Postcode Trust (Great Britain)

The People’s Postcode Trust’s Grants Programme has re-opened for applications. The People’s Postcode Trust provides project-based funding in Great Britain under the themes: Promoting human rights; Combatting discrimination; and Preventing poverty. Registered Charities can apply for grants of between £500 and £20,000. Small organisations and community groups that are not formally registered as a charity can apply for up to £2,000. ATM Covid-19 BAME Resilience Grant

The Anti-Tribalism Movement (ATM) is a UK charity committed to tackling tribal discrimination and promoting fair and equitable societies. We have been working with the UK’s Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities since 2010. The ATM Covid-19 Resilience Grant was launched last week to support the  BAME led voluntary sector in England and Wales affected by the Covid-19 crisis to sustain their core services and thrive in these unprecedented times.

Applications must be submitted electronically to grants@theatm.org before 5PM on Wednesday 12 August 2020. All applications will be assessed by an assessment panel whose decisions will be final. The British Gas Energy Trust Announced £800,000 Covid Response Fund

The British Gas Energy Trust has announced its £800,000 Covid Response Fund. Nine grants of between £40,000 and £180,000 will be available to money advice and support charities working in high need areas. Projects should help people avoid the burden of energy debt, make informed energy choices and improve their control over household finances.
