Volunteer position with expenses paid (travel (£5 Limit) within London and £3 for lunch if the volunteer is here for the entire day).

Details: Hammersmith and Fulham Law Centre was established in 1979 and has worked on the front line of advice needs for 36 years. We are rooted in our community, have an in-depth understanding of local needs and issues and prioritise helping those who are most vulnerable and disadvantaged. We are well connected to other advice agencies and community groups and provide second tier advice to other agencies.

H&F Law Centre has legal aid contracts in housing, immigration and asylum and provides free legal advice and representation to those who are eligible under the scheme. We also run the duty possession desk on Mondays and Wednesdays at the County Court in Hammersmith.

In order to support our busy reception and caseworkers, H&F Law Centre is recruiting Reception and Triage Volunteers able to commit on a part-time basis of at least one day per week.

Female* Independent Domestic Violence Adviser – part time

The IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process specialising in working with clients at high risk. They will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 13, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice and civil remedies and related matters, support women to attend court where necessary, and coordinate the provision of multi-agency support. Part of the role will to be to establish positive, proactive and innovative working relationships with services providing services to clients and partner agencies within the Angelou Partnership. The post holder will work across the three boroughs under the guidance of the team leaders and project manager.

The Duty Worker will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. They will work within the team to make proactive contact attempts with high volumes of new referrals and once this contact is established complete initial needs and risk assessments. They shall provide initial advice and crisis safety planning before the case is allocated to an IDVA/caseworker or referred to the appropriate partner agency for ongoing support. They will provide this high quality support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 13, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice, civil remedies, housing and related matters.

They will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from age 13, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice and civil remedies and related matters, support women to attend court where necessary, and coordinate the provision of multi-agency support they will focus on working with clients to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness in the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham. Part of the role will be to establish positive, proactive and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies
within the Angelou Partnership. The post holder will work across the three boroughs under the guidance of the team leaders and project manager.

STADV is looking for skilled and experienced domestic abuse experts to widen our pool of associates to help with chairing or report writing for domestic homicide reviews, development of our training programme and a range of bespoke consultancy work related to strategic and operational responses to domestic violence.
Duties and commitments would vary depending on needs of STADV staff and clients and availability of associates. Payment is typically made on a daily rate or in some cases for project at an agreed sum. An availability of at least 10 days per year is required.

Job Description

Enthusiastic, efficient and self-motivated Older People’s Outreach Worker needed to enable isolated older people to access befriending and events in Hammersmith and Fulham. The Older People’s Outreach Worker will undertake outreach work with isolated older people to enable them to access the new H&F Connect 55+ project Your focus will be on isolated older people who are living in sheltered housing or not in receipt of any other befriending services. The Outreach worker will also help the Older People’s Services team cover essential services such as telephone befriending and preparing publicity for events. Applicants should ideally have excellent office skills and a minimum of one year’s recent experience working with older people and volunteers. Experience of hosting events for older people is an asset. The post is for 28 hours a week.

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced coordinator to oversee and deliver a new exciting expansion of our Keep Active volunteer programme into the City of Westminster. The Keep Active Co-ordinator will recruit, train and support volunteers to enable older people referred from Community Rehabilitation Services to regain mobility and independence through indoor and outdoor exercise support. Applicants should ideally have a minimum of one year’s recent experience of managing volunteers and working with older people. Knowledge of Westminster is desirable. The job will be based at Bishop Creighton House in Fulham but will involve extensive working in Westminster.
The Keep Active project
Keep Active Westminster is a pilot partnership project with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and is being funded for 3 years by Public Health. Keep Active will provide volunteers for 9 weekly sessions to older people who have lost some function due to illness, stroke or fall. Volunteers help older people to stay mobile and engage with their local community. All referrals will come from the Westminster Community Rehabilitation Service (CRS) for clients being discharged who could benefit further from volunteers giving them motivational companionship and support. This project is an expansion from our Keep Active Hammersmith & Fulham Service which was shortlisted for the Guardian Charity Awards 2014.

Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women with children, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

Brief for researcher to produce an evaluation of Befriending to be considered by the Big Local Partnership Board and used as the basis for decision making.

We would like to complete the review quite quickly, ideally by the end of October. We want an independent look at what we are doing, but one that engages those currently involved in trying to make the service work and helps them to implement the change needed. There is a Big Local Partnership Board on 6th October and interim feedback for that meeting will be vital.
