CommUNITY Day is unique celebration event bringing together members of all different communities in the borough to enjoy an afternoon of performances and activities for all the family.

 

HF ArtsFest are looking for volunteers to support the delivery of CommUNITY Day in Ravenscourt Park on Sunday 21st July 2019.

 

If you are a resident in H&F and passionate about contributing to your local community – this role is for you!

 

CommUNITY Event Support Role:

  • Supporting Event and Stage Managers in set up of the day
  • Providing information to general public about the event and activities on offer and generally promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere
  • Supporting artists/groups who are taking part in the day (way finding etc)
  • Distributing leaflets and HF ArtsFest marketing materials
  • Providing general ad hoc event support to the events organisers/producers

Event Times: 12 – 6pm

Set up time: 10am – 12noon

Get out: 6 – 7pm

The event attracted around 4000 people over the course of the day last year so it is a great opportunity to promote your activities and connect with local residents.

Supported by The Mayor of London’s Culture Seeds, The WoWC is a free, weekly, artistic expression project for women who are residents of White City Estate.

 

In the six painting workshops, participants can discover their creativity, build friendships, and share their stories through art in a fun and relaxed environment.

No art experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided.

 

The WoWC project is the brainchild of The RENA Initiative (Recognise, Empower & Nurture Artists).

 

The mission of this social enterprise is to create a world where art galleries and museums reflect the diversity of the local population, and where self-expression through visual arts is available for all.

 

The WoWC project is part of The RENA Initiative’s commitment to establish art programs in disadvantaged communities, creating the opportunity for empowerment, inspiration and improved mental health and well-being.

 

The WoWC commences on Thursday 1st August 2019 at 10:30am – 12:30pm at White City Community Centre.

Advance booking is essential as spaces are limited.

Priority will be given to residents of White City Estate who are either isolated, unemployed or elderly.

Join crowdfunding platform Spacehive for a workshop at St Paul’s Hammersmith, where you will have the chance to develop your ideas and learn about how you can access additional funding avaliable from Hammersmith & Fulham council and other Spacehive partners, including GLL and the Mayor of London.

Health and Homelessness Project will be hosting their annual Health and Wellbeing Fair.

This is an excellent opportunity for service users and people in the community to come and learn about health and wellbeing services available to them in Hammersmith and Fulham.

 

There will be a range of physical health, mental health, substance use and wellbeing services providing informative and fun activities.

 

The fair also serves as an excellent networking platform for staff and the general public.

It is completely free of charge and refreshments will be provided.

The Community Shares Booster Programme is a funding scheme to support community share offers.

It will invest equity up to £100,000 to match community shares in societies that can demonstrate higher than average levels of community impact, innovation and engagement.

The programme will also provide development grants of up to £10,000 to help societies get investment ready and meet standards of good practice.

Match funding will be in the form of equity held on equal terms with other community shareholders.

 

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with grant and investment decisions made within eight weeks of application.
