Person Centred Commissioning
The future for local government & third sector partnerships?

10:00 – 17:00, Thursday 12th November
Hub Westminster, New Zealand House, 80 Haymarket, London, SW1Y 4TE

Kindly supported by the Lankelly Chase Foundation

NLGN is delighted to invite you to an interactive workshop, where we will be exploring the relationship between local authorities and the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in commissioning and providing social services.

Places are limited. Please email: rsvp@nlgn.org.uk to reserve a place.

Many councils are beginning to pare back social care and people focused services to statutory level, bringing about a fundamental change in the relationship between local authorities and the VCS. In addition, a shift from grants to contracts and commissioning has brought about tensions between commissioners and providers. Learning to navigate this new relationship has been difficult for both sectors and in many cases the conversations are stuck.

This event is part of NLGN’s ongoing research on developing a new relationship between the VCS, local government and their communities. Throughout the day we will use interactive exercises to simulate a new method of person centred commissioning, enabling attendees from local government and the VCS to simulate and test this new collaborative approach.

The workshop will provide valuable learning experience on person centred commissioning for all delegates and will contribute to NLGN’s upcoming report.

To book a place at this event, please email rsvp@nlgn.org.uk

I very much hope you will be able to join us for this unique and exciting event.

How effective is your
Business Plan?

Wednesday 23rd September 2015
2.00 pm – 4.00 pm
Centre for Armenian Information & Advice
105a Mill Hill Road
Acton, London W3 8JF

This practical workshop will focus on helping you to develop your Business Plan, to include the role of the management team, and financial analysis. More Trusts and Local Authorities now want a full Business Plan as part of the required documents with your funding applications.

Planning helps an organisation chart a course for the achievement of its goals. The process begins with reviewing the current operations of the organisation and identifying what needs to be improved operationally in the upcoming year. From there, planning involves envisioning the results the organization wants to achieve, and determining the steps necessary to arrive at the intended destination—success.
