For Mental Health Awareness Week this year, we’re raising awareness of the impact of loneliness on our mental health.

One in four adults feels lonely some or all of the time.

The longer we feel lonely, the more we are at risk of mental health problems.

By understanding different mental health problems and learning new skills and coping strategies we can start to tackle mental health problems together.

Our series of government-funded online courses is your perfect starting point to do just this…

Every year, UK Mental Health Awareness Week takes place in May and is hosted by The Mental Health Foundation. Here at St John Ambulance, we have made it one of our missions to break down stigma related to mental health in the workplace.

Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual event when there is an opportunity for the whole of the UK to focus on achieving positive mental health. The event has grown to become one of the biggest awareness weeks across the UK and globally. The theme for this year is Loneliness.

Loneliness is affecting more and more of us in the UK and has had a huge impact on our physical and mental health during the pandemic. Our connection to other people and our community is fundamental in protecting our mental health and we need to find better ways of tackling the epidemic of loneliness. We can all play a part in this.

Across the week we’ll be hosting a free online webinar session which will focus on workplace cultures and shining a spotlight on wellbeing in the workplace. We will also be releasing new mental health mini e-learning modules and offering lots of free resources (including our new ‘Managers Guide: Managing wellbeing for remote workers) for you to use in your workplace, with the aim of improving people’s mental health.
