Hammersmith & Fulham Mind (HFM) is an independent mental health provider working with people living in the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham and beyond for over 25 years.

Are you passionate about protecting and enhancing the mental health and wellbeing of the next generation? This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and deliver a pioneering new service called ‘Learn Well’ that supports pupils, teachers and parents in secondary schools to effectively manage their mental health and crucially prevent mental health problems from developing at a young age. The Learn Well programme will aim to improve young people’s (11 to 18) psychological wellbeing by building resilience, promoting positive practices, adaptive coping skills and raising awareness of how to get help if their mental health deteriorates.

We’re looking for a unique person who has experience in mental health and delivering engaging programmes and/or training with young people. We are actively working on expanding our Learn Well programme into more secondary schools so there is the potential for this to move towards a full time role in the near future.

We are taking over the running of services across the spectrum of Violence against Women and Girls in three London boroughs, heading up nine organisations, having just won the government contract for this work. We are also gearing up to expand the geographical reach of our work with women offenders, described as “the gold standard” by the local police force. We are seeking a Fundraising Intern with good writing skills and an interest in our services to join us at our Hammersmith offices. The ideal candidate will be keen to learn, and be able to aid the Fundraising team in producing funding bids, work on improving donor relations, and carry out fundraising event  planning duties.

  •  You need to be able to commit to a 3-6 month, 3 day a week internship to gain the maximum from this
    placement
  • You will receive a full induction, shadow senior managers and get ongoing training and support from
    experienced fundraisers within the team. You will also work alongside the CEO, an experienced fundraiser
  • You will learn budgeting, research skills and will help us shape the future of the organisation. You will also be
    involved in strategic meetings and given opportunities to learn about the sector as part of your work in a
    welcoming all-woman team of 35 staff

Work location: Based at ADVANCE Hammersmith office and community locations
The Substance Misuse IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process specialising in working with clients for whom substance abuse is a factor. The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse and substance misuse sectors. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women involved in substance misuse services, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

Outline of Role: Paladin National Stalking Advocacy Service CIC employs a number of Independent Stalking Advocacy Caseworks (ISACs) who offer support for high risk victims who have been the subject of stalking, support them through the criminal justice system and offer relevant advice and advocacy. The ISAC will be responsible for providing an efficient, effective trauma informed response to victims of stalking across England and Wales. This will include assessing an individual’s needs based on the risk at that time and ensuring that the victim’s voice is heard locally and at appropriate multi-agency or professional meetings.

The role will also include working with professionals and local agencies to ensure a coordinated response is in place and all relevant agencies work together effectively.
