‘Opening Doors’ is a new project and the post holder will be expected to set up and manage the project which will involve recruiting, training, matching of volunteers.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual with excellent skills in volunteer management, supervision and support. The post holder will need to be proactive and be a good communicator.  Organisational skills, as well as an ability to work to targets are essential for this role. Experience of working with people with learning disabilities would be an advantage but is not essential.

One Westminster is looking for someone with an excellent understanding of the voluntary sector and an interest in “social prescription” and the “self-care” health agenda to join our small Organisation Support Team.

Working alongside colleagues, you will be responsible for delivering a range of support, signposting and development services to voluntary and community organisations in Westminster.  You will provide a link between National Health Service and other statutory health and well-being providers and the wider voluntary sector and help develop self-care services within the sector.

You should have excellent communication skills, experience of project development and management including monitoring and evaluation and evidence experience and knowledge of fundraising and bid writing.

A knowledge of the current health agenda would be an advantage.

This is a one year fixed term contract.

Volunteer Outreach Officer

One Westminster is looking for someone with an excellent understanding of the voluntary sector and experience in managing volunteers to support the Volunteer Outreach and Development Service.  The main aim of this role is to engage with the harder to reach groups in the Westminster community and support them into volunteering placements. Targeted groups include unemployed people, young people in education, older people aged 65 plus, homeless people and those recovering from substance misuse. 

A key part will be supporting customers in 1-to-1 sessions at outreach work throughout Westminster, including Job Centres, to find their ideal volunteering role with voluntary organisations and community groups, based on interests and skills using the Team Westminster website.

The role will also include providing ongoing support, monitoring and tracking all registered customers to assist them into successful volunteering placements.

This is a part time post for one year.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference as a finance minded Trustee (Treasurer) of a small charity. We are looking for a qualified accountant with a strong track record in strategic and operational financial management to act as a key advisor to our team on all financial aspects of running the charity. The ideal candidate will have an interest in mental health and knowledge of current finance practice relevant to charities, as well as good financial analysis skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the charity.

The Trustee (Treasurer) will sit on the full board of Trustees as well as chairing the Finance Sub-Committee. This role will involve:

  • Overseeing the financial affairs of the organisation, ensuring they are in line with Hammersith & Fulham Mind’s charitable objects and within accepted accounting practice
  • Monitoring the financial health of the organisation, including appraising the financial viability of plans and proposals
  • Making fellow trustees aware of their financial obligations and taking the lead in interpreting financial data to them
  • With support from the CEO and the Finance Manager, regularly reporting the organisation’s financial position at committee meetings
  • Overseeing the CEO and the Finance Manager in the production of the annual budget, reforecast(s), management accounts, adherence to financial controls, etc.
  • Liaising with auditors

Trustee meetings are held approximately once a month (at 6.30pm – in Fulham or Notting Hill); in addition, the Finance Sub-Committee meets once every 2 months, alternately in Fulham, the City, or via conference call.

Trustees are asked to commit to volunteering with the charity for at least a year. You will join a board currently consisting of 8 Charity Trustees from various backgrounds and different experiences contributing unique and invaluable skills to the charity.
