The Peter Sowerby Foundation – Increasing Access Fund

The Peter Sowerby Foundation has announced the £1.4 million Increasing Access Fund. The fund is intended to support organisations to develop new services that respond to the Covid-19 situation, or to adapt existing services to meet local and national needs. Three categories of grants are available to organisations working within the areas of healthcare innovation, the arts, environment and community (particularly with disadvantaged young people). Isla Foundation’s Tipping Point Grants

Grants to Cover Running Costs for Small Charities (UK)

Grants of £300 to £2,000 are available to small charities to help them to pay for with running and core costs. The funding is available to registered charities (Community Interest Companies are excluded) working in the areas of literature, arts and heritage; social welfare; environmental causes and animal welfare; education and training; and healthcare. The funding is being made available through the Marsh Christian Trust. There are no application deadlines. Examples of the support given include core costs for Compaid, a digital skills centre in Kent that supports people with disabilities and sensory impairments and Glassdoor, an organisation that offers shelter to the homeless in London. The Charities Aid Foundation

The Charities Aid Foundation has launched its Resilience Fund, with £20 million available to small/medium-sized non-profits in England. Grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 will be awarded to organisations working with ‘vulnerable and disadvantaged’ groups, such as people experiencing poverty, older people, people with disabilities, refugees. Power to Change – Community Business Renewal Fund

The Community Business Renewal Fund provides grants to community businesses in England affected by the Covid-19 crisis to adapt, renew and rebuild their business so they can remain financially viable. Funding to Tackle the Disproportionate Impact of Covid-19 on BAME Communities (England)

Small Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) -led charities, voluntary and community groups, and social enterprises in England can apply for support to help tackle the disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities. Voice4Change England’s Covid-19 Partnership Fund will provide organisations with grants of between £5,000 and £10,000 to deal with emerging issues in the community, as a result of the continuing threat of coronavirus, the need for self-isolation, and potential for further exacerbation of loneliness and isolation. Funding can be used to cover running costs and small capital costs, and support for services such as foodbanks, domestic abuse and violence groups, tackling homelessness, and providing access to technology. Pebble Grants Re-open for Applications (UK)

The Rank Foundation has reopened applications for Pebble Grants which provide funding of between £250 and £4,000 to small UK registered charities and recognised churches which are raising money for projects where the total cost is less than £150,000. Funding can be used for either: capital costs, such as funding for fixed, one-time expenses incurred on the purchase of land, building work, refurbishment, and equipment; or short breaks where funding is targeted towards annual respite breaks for disadvantaged young people, and short-term activities or programmes. Funding to Improve Homes & Community Spaces (UK & Ireland)

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to local charities across the UK & Ireland for projects that support people experiencing bad housing or homelessness, as well as community projects looking to improve their spaces. The B&Q Foundation provides funding to support people in need including those suffering financial hardship, sickness, disability, or other disadvantage or distress. The Foundation has previously awarded grants to charities ranging from homelessness and abuse charities, to children’s hospices and rehabilitation centres. Funding could be used for projects including creating community gardens, redecorating properties, and converting rooms at hostels to additional bedrooms. Voice4Change England

Applications to the Voice4Change Covid-19 Grants Programme opened today (14 October) at 4pm. The grants programme is for Black, Asian and Minority (BAME) led community groups and organisations in England, working primarily with BAME communities, with an annual income of less than £200,000. In exceptional cases, organisations with larger incomes will be considered, so all BAME community groups and organisations are encouraged to apply.
