In this month’s edition of Talk at Ten we’ll be placing a spotlight on the markedly different impacts that working from home during the pandemic has had on different groups.

With children once again being home schooled has additional childcare been evenly split between the genders? How have staff relatively lower down the pay scale, and potentially without the proper facilities for a true ‘home office’ fared? What can employers be doing to look after their staff now that working from home is the norm?

Grants of up to £40,000 are available to charitable women’s organisations across the UK working to enable women and girls to improve their mental health and wellbeing and/or improve their financial resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic. With funds from the Tampon Tax Fund, Rosa UK and Smallwood Trust have collaborated to create the Women Thrive Fund which will enable organisations to respond to the crisis and support women and girls to overcome the barriers they face. Applicants can also ask for an additional 25% of their grant request for costs to strengthen their organisation. Proposals are particularly welcome from organisations working with vulnerable, disadvantaged and/or under-represented groups such as Black and minoritised groups, older women, those with disabilities, and LGBT+. Remuneration:
The role of Chair is not accompanied by any financial remuneration, although expenses for
travel may be claimed.

Time Commitment:
Minimum of four Board meetings per year. The Chair is expected to have regular meetings with the AD / CEO, and
also represent OETC at various events and meetings with key stakeholders. In total, this time commitment
represents approximately 12-15 days spread flexibly across the year.

Direct report:
Artistic Director and CEO and Board of Trustees.

Background:
A general background in management, strategy, governance, finance, HR, fundraising would be useful. Knowledge of
arts and culture, health and wellbeing or substance misuse sectors is desirable, but not essential. Previous
experience as a Chair or Trustee would be welcomed.

We are accepting expressions of interest until 5pm on 22 March 2021, with interviews the week commencing 5 April.

A new Covid-19 comms toolkit has been released by the government including multi-language videos, posters and key messages relating to the new national vaccine booking system for over 70s. The aim of the toolkit is to help those in influential positions in communities to communicate this important information. Find the toolkit here.

This is a part-time position for a self-employed person to support the work of our local NHS campaigning organisation.

The post is for 3-5 hours per week, up to 20 hours per month, to be reviewed after 3 months.
