Small Charity Week celebrates the amazing work of the small charity sector and shines some light on the charities on the smaller spectrum by raising your profile with the public, businesses and local and national government. Each day of the week (19th-24th June) is themed to make sure there is something to benefit all organisations. We are excited to announce a range of initiatives to support your small charity to raise funds in Small Charity Week 2017. Fundraising Day is the perfect opportunity for small charities to engage with current and new supporters to get fundraising. Fundraising Day 2017 will take place on 22nd June, but lots of the activities and events have deadlines so get involved before then and get planning now.

You are invited to discuss proposals on how people will access patient transport across North West London hospitals.

In partnership with the H&F Volunteer Centre we will be delivering this training event at Dawes Road Hub on 11th May at 11:00, 11am-1pm. The event is aimed at those wishing to become trustees or those who are already trustees and would like to develop their understanding of the role. The event will cover:

  • Management or Executive – where do you draw the line
  • Responsibilities and your accountability
  • Relationship of the team and being effective
  • Delegation
  • What can be achieved

We will be running this fantastic training event on 18th April, 11am-1pm here at Sobus. The event will be delivered by Localgiving who have particular expertise in developing online fundraising methods. This event will run through the key steps of creating and delivering a fundraising plan, with particular emphasis on fundraising online. This session is most appropriate for organisations that have some experience in fundraising from individuals and who want to make their proactive fundraising activities more structured in the future. However it is open to all and we look forward to seeing you.

Sobus has great pleasure in announcing that the H&F Clinical Commissioning Group (H&F CCG) Health and Wellbeing Grants Programme will run again in 2017. H&F CCG have been very impressed with the projects funded in 2016 and as part of their commitment to continue to work with the VCS they are putting £100,000 into the grants programme for 2017. Sobus is organising an event on Thursday 6th April from 3pm – 5pm and this is an opportunity to talk to the organisations currently being funded, find out about the project they have run and learn about how to apply for the 2017 programme. A local charity football tournament will take place on 9th April to raise funds for those affected by the severe drought and famine in East Africa. All funds raised from this tournament will be donated to help those affected. For further details, please click here.
