Free for Carer’s: Drawing & Mindfulness at the National Gallery

There are a limited number of free places available for carers to enjoy a relaxed talk followed by some drawing and a mindfulness session in front of a painting at the National Gallery! No artistic skills are required for you to take part and enjoy this session.

When: Thursday 30 March 2017, 11am – 1:30pm
Where: The National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, WC2N 5DN

Find out why Mike is running the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 23 April to raise funds for the local charity, Carers Network and support his campaign if you can here.

There are a limited number of places available in this October’s iconic Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon on Sunday 8 October.

H&F Disabled Residents Survey

Earlier this year, Hammersmith & Fulham Council set up a Disabled People’s Commission to look at how to make life easier for disabled people living and working in the borough. The Commission is made up of local disabled people from across the borough.

We want to know about your experiences as a disabled person of local services and support and have put together a survey called ‘Nothing About Us Without Us’ , which may be viewed here. Just published for Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea, the Young Adults Joint Strategic Needs Assessment focuses on the health needs of local young people aged 18 to 25.  An interactive summary is available online, which will be updated as new data is published.  The consultation draft of the online annual highlight report is also available now and is open to feedback.

P/T Specialist Counsellors (Female Only) Required

Women and Girls Network is currently looking for specialist counsellors to work in Bromley, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow and Lewisham. It is offering between seven and fourteen hours a week, which will be dependent on the skills set of the successful candidates.

Applicants must be BACP or UKCP accredited (or eligible) and have experience of providing a range of counselling interventions for women who have experienced gender-based violence. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the following: gender responsive approach, trauma focused, holistic therapeutic responses and multicultural competencies. The salary is £28K per annum (pro rata).

Support Worker for Former Carers Job Opportunity

Carers Network is seeking an enthusiastic, independent worker with excellent interpersonal skills to deliver a brand-new project supporting former unpaid adult carers in the central London boroughs of Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and City of London.

The postholder will be responsible for identifying and supporting adults who are transitioning out of a long-term caring role. This part-time role will include providing one-to-one support to vulnerable individuals and signposting to suitable services. The salary is £13,800 per annum (22.5 hours per week)

Let Goodgym Help Your Organisation

Nationwide community running movement, Goodgym, an innovative organisation that combines physical fitness with volunteering, is looking for Westminster-based organisations that its volunteers can help on a Wednesday evening. Goodgym volunteers combine getting fit with doing good. As an integral part of their runs the volunteers do physical tasks for community organisations, as well as supporting isolated older people with social visits. They also complete one-off tasks for anyone who can’t do them on their own.
