Capital grants of up to £40,000 are available for projects that improve the physical environment within which adult and children’s hospices deliver care. The grants will seek to address inequality and widen access to hospice care for people with dementia or a mental health condition. This can be through putting into practice the recommendations or findings from an organisational or local scoping exercise; piloting a new project based on a robust needs assessment; and responding to national policy or research evidence. The funding is being made available through Hospice UK and the total amount of funding available is £200,000. The deadline for applications is 5pm on the 20th April 2020. Click here

Local and national charities in England and Wales can apply for grants of between £500 – £5,000 per year for up to 3 years for projects that support vulnerable and disadvantaged people over 50. To be eligible the charity needs to have an annual income of below £500,000 per year. The funding is being made available through the Masonic Charitable Foundation Later Life small grants programme. The next closing date for applications to the small grants programme is the 17th April 2020. The Foundation also offer funding of between £10,000 and £80,000 through its large grants programme. Small charities and community interest groups with innovative ideas that benefit their community can apply for funding of up to £50,000 for projects that build more connected, more resilient communities; and give people the tools to become more financially independent. The funding is being made available through the newly re-launched Aviva Community Fund. Every three months from January onwards, £250,000 will be split equally among Aviva’s UK employees to donate to the projects that matter to them most. The closing date for this funding round is the 5th May 2020. Aviva have teamed up with the fundraising platform Crowdfunder and applicants can add to any donations they get from the Aviva Community Fund with public donations. Click here

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to support the development of outstanding women, trans and non-binary songwriters and composers of all genres and backgrounds at different stages of their career. The funding is available to support touring, recording, promotion and marketing, community projects involving high-quality music creators, music creator residencies and live performances featuring new UK music. The funding is being made available through the PRS for Music Foundation’s Woman make Music Grants Programme and the closing date for applications is the 8th June 2020. Click here

Community-led cultural organisations in London can apply for grants of between £1,000-£5,000 to support arts, culture and heritage projects and activities. The funding aims to help groups that usually miss out on grants because they are too small, too informal or from marginalised communities. Priority is given to projects that support people on lower incomes and connect communities that lack access to cultural resources and funding. The funding is being made available through the Mayor of London’s Culture Seeds funding programme. The closing date for applications is midday on the 6th March 2020. Click here

Grants of up to £15,000 are available for projects both in the UK and internationally that support women. Applications will be particularly welcome from non-OECD countries that focus on campaigning and activism in the following areas: Lesbian and transgender rights, Violence against women and girls, Disabled women and girls, Refugee women and girls. Funding is provided by the Feminist Review Trust, the closing date for applications for the current funding round is the 30th April 2020. Click here

Comic Relief and the Mayor of London launched the London Together fund in 2018. This is the third and final round of the three-year funding partnership.

  • London Together invests in sport for change approaches that aim to improve social integration. The fund supports work in London.
  • There are two aims for this round of funding: reducing social isolation and strengthening relationships between and within communities.
  • Applicants can apply for a minimum of £25,000 and a maximum of £150,000.
  • The deadline is 12 noon on Friday 13th March 2020.

Civil society organisations in London that can deliver projects which counter violent extremism in London can now apply for grants of up to £50,000 through the Mayor of London’s Shared Endeavour Fund.
