Due to popular demand our free digital marketing workshops have returned! With the Covid-19 national lockdown requiring many businesses to close, Hammersmith & Fulham Council is helping local businesses to boost their online presence asas the nation emerges from the latest Covid-19 lockdown. The virtual workshops will be delivered by Samer Bata from the Knowledge Acedemy to give business owners the essential digital skills they need to promote their business online.

Who can attend?

The training is open to all businesses in H&F and local residents looking to start a new business.

What will I learn in the workshops?

The workshops will focus on –

Building simple and effective marketing strategies
Mobile marketing platforms
Social Media
Email Marketing
Search Engine Marketing
When will the workshops begin?

There are five separate course dates to choose from with each course consisting of two sessions (each session lasts three hours and will take place via Zoom). Each course is open to 30 people. The time and dates are:

Course 1 : 26 and 27 April 2021, 6pm to 9pm

Course 2 : 3 and 4 May 2021 , 6pm to 9pm

Course 3: 10 and 11 May 2021, 6pm to 9pm

Course 4 : 17 and 18 May 2021, 6pm to 9pm

Course 5 : 24 and 25 May 2021, 6pm to 9pm

Over 21 million people volunteer in the UK at least once a year and this contributes an estimated £23.9bn to the UK economy. Behind these big numbers is a big contribution.

These 21 million people are a shining example of how we can all make a big difference to individuals and communities every day from improving the environment we live in, spending time with those who may otherwise be lonely and contributing to a range of other essential services and support. We believe such a big contribution is worth a big celebration!

Volunteers’ Week is a chance to be part of the UK’s biggest celebration of volunteering, recognising the contribution of volunteers in their communities across the UK.

NCVO is the national lead for Volunteers’ Week in England, and the week is led by our UK partners, WCVA, Volunteer Scotland, and Volunteer Now.

Volunteers’ Week is a long-standing, popular event in the voluntary sector, established in 1984. It is supported and celebrated by small grassroots organisations as well as larger, household-name charities, who together run hundreds of events across the UK. These events showcase and celebrate volunteers and the contribution volunteering makes in our communities.

Invitation: Information gathering sessions with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, Ms. E. Tendayi Achiume, will undertake an official country visit to the UK from 30 April to 11 May 2018 at the invitation of the Government.

The Special Rapporteur will start her fact-finding mission in England and namely London, before proceeding to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Parsons Green Fair attracts around eight thousand visitors and this year we will have more than 100 stalls including charities, organisations, and small businesses creating awareness for their products or services. Lots of those who have already booked to take part come back year after year, which confirms the event’s popularity. All indications are that this year’s Fair – on 7th July 2018 – will be bigger and better than ever.

The event will be opened officially at 11.30am by the Chair of Fulham Good Neighbours Robert Fryer and the Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham (TBC).

 

The main stage programme includes:

A wide range of refreshments will be provided at the event including offers from; Il Pagliacci, BBQ,  Bombay Street Food, Jerk Spice, Heavenly Crepes and much more.

The Tamil Community Centre, Ilays – Somali Community Centre, CAIA, HEAR and Race on the Agenda are inviting BMER community organisations in West London for a meeting on campaigning for mental health services provision in for Black, Asian, refugee and other minority ethnic communities.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday 10 April, 11.00-15.00 at the Centre for Armenian Information and Advice (CAIA), 105 A Mill Hill Road, Acton, London, W3 8JF The meeting will be the second of three and will be open to BMER community organisations across West London. The third session will take place in May 2018 (date to be decided).

Participants will:

–       Discuss what is needed for West London’s communities’ mental health equality

–       Decide on what to ask from the CCG, MHT and Local Authority

–       Plan the next steps of their campaign

Protection Approaches is delighted to invite you to join us at community workshop and discussion at the Bush Theatre. This event will bring together community members from different backgrounds, ages, and professions to explore ideas of how we can bridge community divides.

During our project, Prejudice and Us, we worked with young people from Shepherds Bush, White City and Hammersmith to understand their experiences of prejudice. We discovered that prejudice is an ever present problem affecting the lives of the young people in a variety of ways and that many young people feel they live in an increasingly divided community. We hope that this workshop and discussion will be an opportunity to work together to think of ways we can bridge those divides and make our community a better place for all.

The event will end with a buffet lunch and a chance to continue discussions informally
