Due to popular demand our free digital marketing workshops have returned! With the Covid-19 national lockdown requiring many businesses to close, Hammersmith & Fulham Council is helping local businesses to boost their online presence asas the nation emerges from the latest Covid-19 lockdown. The virtual workshops will be delivered by Samer Bata from the Knowledge Acedemy to give business owners the essential digital skills they need to promote their business online.

Who can attend?

The training is open to all businesses in H&F and local residents looking to start a new business.

What will I learn in the workshops?

The workshops will focus on –

Building simple and effective marketing strategies
Mobile marketing platforms
Social Media
Email Marketing
Search Engine Marketing
When will the workshops begin?

There are five separate course dates to choose from with each course consisting of two sessions (each session lasts three hours and will take place via Zoom). Each course is open to 30 people. The time and dates are:

Course 1 : 26 and 27 April 2021, 6pm to 9pm

Course 2 : 3 and 4 May 2021 , 6pm to 9pm

Course 3: 10 and 11 May 2021, 6pm to 9pm

Course 4 : 17 and 18 May 2021, 6pm to 9pm

Course 5 : 24 and 25 May 2021, 6pm to 9pm

We are Now Very Close to Census Day, on 21st March 2021

Census helps national and local government to plan services such as transport, schools, health centres and hospitals.

A series of online video workshops have been arranged over the next few weeks and would be pleased if you and your teams, members, volunteers and clients would be able to join in. This would include brief slide presentations about the census, and  completing the online census form. This would take about an hour including questions

Mental Health Workforce Resilience Conference

This National CPD accredited conference programme is a platform to discuss evidence-based policy recommendations for improving support for NHS staff, hear from workforce-lead initiatives strengthening the representation of doctors and filling shortages in NHS services; as well as engaging with workforce-lead peer support schemes providing fundamental training in mental health counselling for NHS staff, equipping them with the skills to provide confidential listening services to colleagues and programmes filling vacancies within the NHS by re-training refugee doctors to safely practice medicine in the UK – teaching the skills and knowledge required to satisfy examinations in language and clinical skills.

Women Entrepreneurs Workshop

The Women Entrepreneurs Workshop provides an opportunity for women* in West London to explore entrepreneurship as a career, enhance their skills and confidence, develop additional employability skills and understand how to grow their existing business and network.

Upstream and Imperial College London are developing a community for women with an entrepreneurial spirit, who are empowered to support each other’s ideas, make incredible connections, build valuable life skills and most importantly, have fun!

The workshops aren’t focused on a specific industry and attendees do not have to have an existing idea or business to join. Attendees are welcome to join both days, or just the one that is most suited to the skills you want to develop.
*We welcome anyone who identifies as a woman.

Hammersmith & Fulham Virtual Youth Achievement Awards

The Hammersmith & Fulham Virtual Youth Achievement Awards are being organised by our Youth Council and Inclusive Apprentices with the support of the Young Hammersmith and Fulham Foundation and local services and organisations. The awards celebrate the diversity of achievement and talent of H&F’s youth.

The nominations can be from peers, teachers, youth or social workers and practitioners, for young people aged 11-25 who live, work or go to school in the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and relate to achievements made within the past two years. All nominations will be judged by a panel of young people and local stakeholders.

The categories

  1. Young person who has made a significant contribution to others– e.g. young carers, to their family, to their school, or to a local organisation.
  2. Young leader– a young role model who has motivated and inspired others.
  3. Achievement in education – a young person who has made excellent progress or attainment in education.
  4. Young volunteer – a young person who has made an active and significant contribution to the community.
  5. Young performer of the year– a young person who has excelled in the performing arts including music and dance.
  6. Young artist of the year– a young person who has excelled in non-performance related arts.
  7. Young innovator of the year– a young entrepreneurial or technological innovator.
  8. Overcoming adversity – a young person who has overcome and persevered through challenges.
  9. Green champion– a young person who has championed a positive change for the local environment.
  10. Young COVID 19 champion- a young person who has done something outstanding to support others during lockdown.

There is also a Contribution to Young People Award A service or youth project that has gone the extra mile or done something extraordinary to support young people.

Cash Bonuses for NEW Apprenticeships Doubled to £3,000

Yesterday (3 March) the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak announced in the Budget that the Government is doubling the incentive payment for employers who take on new apprentices.

As an employer if you recruit an apprentice (anyone over the age of 16) you will receive a payment of £3,000 for each NEW apprentice hired. If you take on a new apprentice aged 16-18 or someone under 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan you will also receive the existing £1,000 bonus together with the new incentive totaling £4,000.

Last month the Government also announced an extension to the Traineeship programme, investing £126million to triple the number of traineeships available and each employer will receive £1,000 for each new trainee they take on to ensure young people are provided with high-quality work experience placments and supported with skills development.
