Acknowledging Youths CIC

 

We are a not-for-profit organisation which for many years is active in both Tower Hamlets, Hammersmith and Fulham and also across Pan London, enabling unemployed young people in these communities to become skilled and then helping them get into work.

 

So far, we have supported over 4,000 people in this way, but are aiming to do far more – so many more young people need our help.

United Way UK are looking for three small charity partners to engage in a youth employment and financial literacy programme in Greater London.

Due to a lack of applications we are extending the application period by 2 weeks until the 17th of October.

Each grant is set at £14,400.

 

We are particularly interested in applications from organisations with programming to ‘Demonstrate that 100 individuals have repaid loans through increased financial skills over 3 years.’  This can include coaching, mentoring, training and other services.

Grand Awards Presentation

This years’ winners will be announced on Thursday 21 November 2019 at the awards presentation at Olympia.

 

The Hammersmith and Fulham Brilliant Business Award, wow in their 8th year are even bigger and better with categories to suit every type and size of business including Best Culture or Arts Business.

 

The awards are free and easy to enter and seek to shine the light on the best borough businesses.

Shortlisted businesses get free tickets for themselves and guests to the Gala Presentation and Dinner on Thursday 21 November at the world-famous Kensington Olympia.

 

The closing date for entries is Friday 25 October and the winners are decided by an expert panel of judges.

Businesses who are shortlisted for awards benefit from a boost to brand awareness, increased credibility in the marketplace, escalating staff morale and a surge in attractiveness to potential employees.

The conference is a celebration of our Champions, who are all local residents working within voluntary and community sector organisations across Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster.

 

It offers an opportunity to bring them together with the many services and partners they work with, and to enable senior decision-makers to meet the Champions.

 

This year will be our seventh year and the theme for the day is ‘Celebrating Diversity’.

  • Date: Wed 13th November, starting 10am, finishing 1.40pm, followed by lunch till 2.30pm
  • Venue: Kensington Town Hall (Great Hall), Hornton Street, W8 7NX

 

The conference starts at 10am and will consist of a number of champions and other speakers on the theme of diversity, two round round-table discussion slots, an award ceremony, and hot lunch to finish.

The conference will be taking place on Friday 4th October and will run from 10.30am until 3.15pm and a light sandwich lunch will be provided.

 

It will be taking place at Age UK London, Ground floor, Tavis House, 1 – 6 Tavistock Square London WC1H 9AH.

 

Age UK London is delighted to have some excellent speakers including Deputy Mayor for Fire & Resilience at GLA, Fiona Twycross and Deputy Assistant Commissioner for the London Fire Brigade, Spencer Sutcliffe to name but a few.

 

The conference aims to

  • Increase understanding of those at highest risks in relation to fire
  • Highlight the Fire Brigade’s structure and the wide range of supportive services available
  • Build links between London Fire Brigade and local organisations across London

 

Please note that this conference is aimed at organisations and groups working with and for older Londoners – to feedback learning.

The Bright Ideas Fund is now open!

The Bright Ideas Fund supports new community business ideas through the start-up and planning stages with tailored business support, to the implementation stage with grants of up to £15,000.

The Bright Ideas Fund is funded by Power to Change, the independent trust supporting community businesses in England, and delivered by Locality, the national network for community organisations, in partnership with Co-operatives UK, the Plunkett Foundation and Groundwork UK.

The Bright Ideas Fund application is now open until Monday 7  October.

There will be additional funding rounds in:
• February 2020 – April 2020,
• August – September 2020,
• February 2021 – March 2021.
