The aim of £1 million challenge fund is to incentivise innovators to address socially impactful issues facing London, help the city emerge stronger from COVID-19 and ensure the capital is prepared for future disruptive challenges. Grants of up to £500 are available to UK-based volunteering or community service projects, organised and run by people under 30 years old, which directly or indirectly respond to COVID-19. The deadline for applications is Sunday 21 March 2021. Click here for further information on the grants.
In response to the coronavirus, The Alpkit Foundation are prioritising funding to support projects that demonstrate an immediate impact on those affected by the crisis. Grants are available to grassroots organisations serving those affected by the outbreak. Funding can provide support for activities which might include helping vulnerable and elderly people who are self-isolating, supporting the homeless, providing access to food, medicines or social care, supporting foodbanks, increasing the number of meals on wheels deliveries, and bringing exercise indoors. Charities, schools, and community groups can apply for grants of up to £1,000 through the NFU Mutual Community Giving Fund. The fund is available in areas that are local to NFU operations in the UK. Applications are likely to be more successful if they meet one or more of the funds priorities. These are connecting the community; providing care and support to vulnerable members of the community; relieving poverty; improving the health and wellbeing; and advancing education and experiences for young people. Grants of up to £40,000 are available to charitable women’s organisations across the UK working to enable women and girls to improve their mental health and wellbeing and/or improve their financial resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic. With funds from the Tampon Tax Fund, Rosa UK and Smallwood Trust have collaborated to create the Women Thrive Fund which will enable organisations to respond to the crisis and support women and girls to overcome the barriers they face. Applicants can also ask for an additional 25% of their grant request for costs to strengthen their organisation. Proposals are particularly welcome from organisations working with vulnerable, disadvantaged and/or under-represented groups such as Black and minoritised groups, older women, those with disabilities, and LGBT+. Charities and organisations with charitable aims can now apply for up to £400 worth of funding for projects that have a direct and tangible social impact on families and solve significant social issues. Funding is available for projects that meet the following themes: Health, Place or Skills for families in their community. The Community Grant scheme is being made available by Warburtons and is administered by the Charities Aid Foundation. The next closing date for applications in this round is the 10th May 2021. Grants of between £30,000 and £250,000 are available to frontline organisations in England led by and providing services for Black and minority women and girls affected by violence. The funding is being provided through a partnership between the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and Comic Relief and funded through a grant from the Tampon Tax Fund. Applications are ongoing for Foyle Foundation’s Small Grants Scheme. The scheme is designed to support smaller UK charities, especially those working at grassroots and local community level, in any field, across a wide range of activities. Currently, the scheme is focused on the following:
- Providing one-year grants to cover core costs or essential equipment, to enable ongoing service provision, working from home, or delivery of online digital services
- Supporting local charities that are delivering services to the young, vulnerable, elderly, disadvantaged or the general community either directly or through online support
