Voluntary, community organisations and schools, etc across the UK can now apply for grants of up to £20,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund – Awards for All programme. This represents a significant increase from the previous maximum grant size of £10,000. Projects can last for up to two years. The funding boost is intended to support organisations in delivering new or existing community led activities. Eligible projects must address at least one of the following: help communities connect, improve their environment, provide early support for individuals and assist those facing financial difficulties. Sobus is a new Community Development Agency for Hammersmith & Fulham. It has been created through the merger of the Community and Voluntary Sector Association Hammersmith & Fulham (CaVSA) and the Fulham Community Partnership Trust (FCPT). Building on the strengths of both organisations, sobus aims to provide a wider range of support services for local charities, community groups, social enterprises and start up businesses.
