Applications are now open for Walking and Cycling Grants London.

Walking and Cycling Grants London is a grants programme funded by Transport for London and administered by Groundwork London.

The programme is aimed at groups that are traditionally under-represented in walking and cycling (e.g through income, health, ability, isolation skills and access to information or equipment).

Walking and Cycling Grants London is a programme which supports London’s diverse communities to walk and cycle more often and more safely.

The programme aims to:

  • Increase walking and cycling in London (including new, lapsed or occasional cyclists)
  • Increase confidence in walking and cycling
  • Increase walking and cycling frequency
  • Make bike ownership more accessible
  • Introduce exercise to people who are particularly inactive via walking and cycling
  • Reduce social isolation and get people involved in their local community

Walking and cycling makes people healthier and happier and is an affordable, green and fun way to get around and explore the city and to get some exercise.

Just ask anyone you know who frequently walks or cycles!

London is fast becoming a cycling city and Cycling Grants London wants to make sure all Londoners benefit from the joys of cycling, regardless of their background or situation.

Often people don’t cycle because they lack the opportunity, information, skills, confidence or motivation to do so; or because they do not have access to a bicycle or the means to maintain it.

Cycling Grants London supports community organisations that work with those who need encouragement and support to get them cycling.

If you have an idea to inspire and support people in your community to cycle more often and cycle more safely, Cycling Grants London may be able to support you!
