The chancellor’s autumn budget statement announced changes that will potentially have a devastating impact on the charity and voluntary sector. It is estimated that the sector’s total increased cost of employer National Insurance Contributions will be £1.4bn per year.

Charities are already in a dire situation, struggling to juggle the soaring demand for their services, while their own costs escalate and funding declines. The decision to increase employer NICs across the charity sector- and not to create an exemption – will be another major strain on their limited resources.

NCVO and ACEVO have issued a joint letter to the chancellor to outline their concerns for the sector. You can make your voice heard too.

Co-sign the open letter to the chancellor and join NCVO and ACEVO in calling for a commitment to safeguard charities from increased employer NICs.

We are a charity theatre company who specialise in using theatre as a form of therapy and have been working within the elderly community for over 20 years. We see firsthand the truth of the Arts Council statement, “Getting involved in creative activities in communities reduces loneliness, supports physical and mental health and wellbeing, sustains older people and helps to build and strengthen social ties.” Sharing in watching a show with music, comedy and drama is a perfect way for the elderly (especially those suffering with dementia) to reconnect and bring some much needed joy back into their lives. “A smile starts on the lips, a grin spreads to the eyes, a chuckle comes from the belly; but a good laugh bursts forth from the soul, overflows, and bubbles all around”.

So far, the company has produced and toured 50 highly successful shows to over 1000 different venues. We pride ourselves in writing and producing our own original material. All our productions are interactive and aim to encourage audiences to join in as much as possible so as to create a memorable experience. We believe this to be why venues invite us back time and time again.  Some of our regular clients include Chelsea Pensioners, Age UK, BUPA, Care UK, Sunrise and Senior Living, National Trust, Hallmark Care Homes, Rose Theatre, 10 different London councils and various NHS groups.
