The 2021-22 round of the Tampon Tax Fund (£11.25 million) will close to applications at midnight on Sunday 4 July 2021. Grants of £350,000 or more are available to organisations delivering projects that improve the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged women and girls or support those affected by or at risk of violence or abuse. The National Lottery Community Fund and The Ubele Initiative, on behalf of The Phoenix Way Partners, have today jointly announced a new £50 million partnership aimed to boost funding and support to Black and Minoritised Community charities and grassroots groups over the next five years. Grants of up to £2,000 are available to support the needs of vulnerable children and young people who have experienced a recent crisis or change in life that has had a significant impact on their social and emotional wellbeing and their education. The funding is being made available through the Buttle UK’s Chances for Children Grants. Support might include items and activities to support learning and development such as laptops, books, wi-fi, educational toys, tuition, etc; clothing and school uniforms; and social, sporting and leisure activities; and items for children/young people’s bedrooms. The National Lottery Community Fund has announced that round 2 of the £4 million Local Connections Fund has re-opened for applications. The Local Connections Fund provides grants of £300 – £2,500 to small, local organisations (with an annual income of £50,000 or less) that are working to reduce loneliness by helping people build connections across their communities. A total of £2 million is available in this funding round. Organisations that received funding in the first round, will not be eligible for funding in the second round. Applications for the October round of Volant Trust’s Covid-19 Response Fund will close on Saturday 31 July 2021. Grants towards project and administrative core costs are available to UK and overseas charities that can demonstrate a strong focus on alleviating social deprivation and helping vulnerable groups who have been particularly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Asda Foundation has launched phase one of its ‘Bringing Communities Back Together’ scheme. Funding is available for a celebration event (such as a welcome back party), getting activities and services back on track or a combination of both. Charities, not-for-profit companies, CIC’s and unincorporated clubs and associations may apply for one grant of up to £1,000. The foundation is accepting new applications to its COVID-19 Emergency Fund. Grants of up to £1,000 are available to help small to medium sized organisations manage the financial impact of the pandemic, either because of increased demand for their services or loss of income. The fund is targeted at organisations in a critical position. To be eligible organisations must be a charity, CIC or registered society with an income below £500,000 and operate in one of the following areas:
• Education relating to non-domestic animals
• Visual and performing arts
• Medical research
• The relief of disability or severe illness
• The accommodation of those in need

The National Lottery Community Fund is distributing emergency grants of up to £10,000 to support organisations in England to continue to deliver services to communities affected by Covid-19. Funding can also be used to help organisations overcome any acute financial difficulties they face as a result of the pandemic. Applications are invited from voluntary or community organisations; registered charities; constituted groups or clubs and not-for-profit or Community Interest Companies. UK-based volunteering or community service projects, organised and run by people under 30 years old, can apply for up to £500 for actions that directly or indirectly respond to COVID-19. The funding is being made available through the Alec Dickson Trust. Applications must align with Public Health England guidance on how to volunteer safely during the pandemic. The latest round of Nationwide’s £4 million Community Grant Programme is awarding grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 to projects that support people in housing need, in original or creative ways. Projects that ‘help charities get back on their feet after the impact of Covid 19’ will be favoured. Charities, charitable incorporated organisations, community land trusts and housing co-operatives are eligible to apply. Funded projects will also get community and volunteering support. The round will close when the cap has been reached, or on Monday 21 June 2021.
