2027 is an initiative that exists to hire, develop and support anybody passionate about forging a career that helps them serve communities through grant-giving, and has some lived experience of being working class and working in the community.  Entering its 6th year, we are looking for 20 talented individuals to join our paid programme and would be delighted if you could help us reach your volunteers, supporters, or beneficiaries.

What is 2027?

You can find out more in our candidate brochure (here), but in short 2027 is:

  • A 12-month job at a leading foundation or trust across the UK, where associates will earn a minimum salary of £25,000.
  • A programme supported by over 20 Foundations or Trusts over the last 6 years, including Children in Need, National Lottery Community Fund, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Sport England, City Bridge Trust and NHS Charities Together.

An acclaimed Development Programme where Associates will attend masterclasses and residentials, receive coaching and mentoring and connect with alumni and experts throughout the sector.

Why does 2027 exist?

2027 is the result of a collaboration between the Centre for Knowledge Equity, Charityworks, Koreo, Northern Soul and Ten Years Time.  The ultimate aim of the programme is to bring 15 people a year into the grant-giving sector over 10 years, in order to fundamentally change how decisions are made about where money is going, and who is involved in the decision-making process. Together, we believe that by bringing foundations and working-class communities closer together, we can build fairer and more effective funding initiatives that reach the heart of communities across the UK and create positive social change.
