In these challenging times it is becoming harder to plan for the future, with pressures on funding and funders, on statutory services and, of course huge concerns for local residents facing worrying hikes in the cost of living.
Organisations such as Sobus have a responsibility to develop and enable Voluntary & Community Sector organisations to establish, grow, be successful and effective. However, whilst words such as sustainability, strategic, cross-cutting, needs-led and innovative are often commonplace terminology, for many, particularly the smaller local groups, all these are simply buzz words. “Capacity Building, Organisational Development, Sustainability” What do all these words really mean for our local groups, whether they are constituted unregistered groups, registered charities or community interest companies?
