The Linnean Society is very pleased to announce that the BioMedia Meltdown competition is back for its third year! This exciting competition gives young people (aged 11-14) in Brent, Hammersmith & Fulham and Ealing the opportunity to show off their scientific knowledge, by thinking creatively and they could even win some amazing prices!

To help inspire young people to create some winning entries we have free interactive workshops and resources available. Previously students have enjoyed creating stop motion animation to develop an understanding of predator-prey relationships in food webs and have explored the idea of maladaptation by sculpting a sabre-tooth tiger skull! They last around one hour (this can be flexible) and are delivered by a trained DBS checked facilitator for free at your meeting place. The workshops are a fun, creative way to explore scientific ideas and are available at your Youth Club or organization between September 2017 and January 2018 to young people in Year 7, 8 and 9.

To find out more about the competition and the free resources available do not hesitate to get in touch with me or visit the website.
