The Edward Gostling Foundation are offering two grant programmes to charities that support individuals living with a physical and/or mental disability or a long-term illness. The Small Grants programme is limited to small and medium-sized charities with a gross annual income of £3M or less. This programme is aimed at charities needing urgent grant support of up to £5K to help maintain an existing service. Grants awarded under this programme are unrestricted and may be used to meet the cost of any charitable activity. The Capital Grants programme is open to all charities with a gross annual income of £5M or less wishing to apply for a grant in excess of £5K towards the cost of funding a new project. Community organisations are invited to apply for funding to help tackle poverty and inequality in London. The Trust for London’s Connected Communities Programme will provide funding for initiatives which help disadvantaged and underrepresented people to access their rights and entitlements, and to speak out about issues which directly affect them. There is no minimum or maximum size of grant, however, the average grant will be around £80,000 and can be spread over one to three years. Grants do not normally exceed £150,000. Priority will be given to charities led by and for Black and minoritised groups and Deaf and Disabled people. The deadline for applications is 1pm on the 1st February 2022. A new round of The Dream Fund has opened to applications. Charities can apply for up to £1.25 million to deliver their ‘dream’ project, including Covid-19 recovery projects. Applications must come from a partnership of at least two charitable organisations, one of which will be the lead. The website states: ‘Applications must be innovative, creative and original, and present projects that are a genuine ‘dream’’. Applications will close at 5.30pm on Monday 1 November. The National Emergencies Trust has launched a £1.2m Local Action Fund with Crowdfunder UK to help voluntary and community organisations overcome the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. The fund offers support to organisations including UK charities, CIC’s, churches and other religious organisations by helping them to counter financial challenges created by the pandemic, including the inability to fundraise in the usual ways, reductions in staff and volunteers, and increased demand on their services. Up to £10,000 in match-funding is available to either launch new local initiatives or to enable them to continue existing services. Eligible services include: health and wellbeing services; services addressing food poverty; and community response coordination. The deadline for applications is the 22nd October 2021. The Art Fund programme are offering project grants of up to £50,000 to help Art organisations as they reimagine their activities following the Covid-19 pandemic. The grant also aims to build expertise, capacity and connections within and outside the Art sector. Find out more about the grants here.
Women-led groups and organisations in London are invited to submit nominations for the London Impact Awards: Powered by Women. This year there are three award categories to recognise women-led organisations who are creating lasting change in their communities: Standout Women’s Champion; Collaboration Award; and Best Emerging Voice. The Awards will be presented at an Awards Ceremony in February 2022, where three grants of £30,000 will be awarded to the winning organisations, and two individuals will be awarded £2,500 towards professional development. There is also a Young Leader with Impact category which will award two young women aged 16-35 who are demonstrating inspirational leadership in their communities. Registered charities, CICs and CIOs have until midday on the 8th October 2021 to submit their applications/nominations. Awards to Recognise Women-led Organisations (London)
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport is providing grants of between £15,000 to £50,000 to organisations that engage with those most affected by loneliness during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Loneliness Engagement Fund is open to organisations that have a track record of delivering effective communications and engagement activity at a national level; and who have a proven reach and track record of engaging with one or more of the following target groups:
- young people aged 16-24
- people with diagnosed mental health conditions
- people living alone
- people from lower income households
- people who are unemployed
- people with disabilities
Funding is to be used to help organisations to continue, adapt or expand existing activity that reaches groups at a higher risk of loneliness and supports the government’s loneliness objectives. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 13 October. To find out more and to apply, visit the website.
An extra £5million has been made available through Sport England’s Return to Play: Active Together crowdfunding scheme. Sports clubs, charities and other community organisations who deliver sport or activity in England can apply for up to £10,000 in match funding to help their communities get active.
