Grant and learning support for Black and Minoritised charities and social enterprises looking to become more enterprising

Support from the Enterprise Development Programme enables organisations to grow financial resilience and impact by providing a mixture of grant and learning support to help get enterprise ideas off the ground.
If accepted onto the programme, participating organisations will work collaboratively with The Ubele Initiative throughout the programme journey to best identify support needs (both learning and grants).

Stage 1 applications close on Monday 13th June 2022, 12 noon

The Arnold Clark Community Fund

The Arnold Clark Community Fund, launched in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, is offering grants of up to £1,000 to UK-registered charities and local community groups. Applications will also be accepted from community interest companies, charitable incorporated organisations and social enterprises. To be eligible, the organisation’s primary focus must be on people and communities in the UK and the funding must also provide immediate relief. Funding to Support Vulnerable Energy Consumers (England, Scotland and Wales)

The Ofgem Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme has opened the first funding round in phase two of the scheme. A total of £27 million is available as grants to charities and community energy groups that support households most at risk from cold homes and high energy bills across England, Scotland and Wales. Projects should also focus on enabling a just transition to national net zero carbon emissions targets and reducing the impact of climate change associated with energy consumption. The scheme is funded by distributing payments from energy companies who may have breached Ofgem rules. The deadline for applications is 5.00pm on Monday 6 June 2022. Screwfix Foundation (UK)

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to local charities and not for profit organisations for projects that will fix, repair, maintain and improve properties and community facilities for of those in need in the UK. The funding is being made available through the Screwfix Foundations and the grants are available for all kinds of projects, from repairing buildings and improving facilities in deprived areas, to decorating the homes of people living with sickness and disabilities. Grants of up to £5,000 Available to Increase Employment Opportunities for Disadvantaged Adults (UK)

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to registered charities to support projects that equip people ( 18 or older in order) from disadvantaged groups with critical life skills necessary for employment. Priority will be given to projects that target people experiencing multiple deprivation or other groups facing major hurdles to employment, especially; women, people with physical, mental, or learning disabilities, refugees and asylum seekers. The funding is being made available through the Thomas Wall Trust. and the deadline for stage 1 applications is the 19th September 2022. Alpkit Taking Grant Applications from Individuals & Organisations Supporting Those Affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic

Alpkit is taking grant applications from individuals or organisations that support those affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, across the country.

Examples include:

  • Being active in your local community to help elderly or vulnerable people
  • Minimising the impact of self-isolation for those in quarantine and need access to food, medicines or social care
  • Supporting food banks and increasing the number of meals on wheels deliveries to support the elderly
  • Supporting those who are homeless or in temporary accommodation
  • Bringing adventure indoors and overcoming the obstacles that prevent us from benefiting from going outdoors.

Motability Announces New Wheelchair Grants Programme (UK)


Motability which is a national charity that supports the transport needs of disabled people has announced the launch of its Wheelchair Sector Grant Programme. Charities and organisations can apply for grants of between £100,000 and £4 million to improve and expand their access to good quality affordable wheelchairs. Grants are available to fill current gaps in provision for groups of people who are excluded from receiving help from existing sources/providers; to enable charities and organisations to help individuals by topping up self-funding; raise awareness of the challenges faced by disabled people in obtaining suitable, quality and affordable wheelchairs; and to help fund high quality and affordable equipment; etc. Applications can be made to the programme at any time until March 2025. Funding to Support Disadvantaged Pupils in State Schools (London)

Grants of between £25,000 and £50,000are available to groups of state schools (in partnership with local voluntary organisations where appropriate) for projects aimed at supporting their most challenged pupils, strengthening links with home life and coordinating the support of other available professionals. The funding is being made available through the John Lyon’s Charity’s Schools in Partnership Fund and is available to schools in Barnet, Brent, Camden, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea and the Cities of London and Westminster. Previous projects supported include St Anselm’s RC Catholic Primary School which received a grant of £38,000 for a play therapy project with four other schools and the Catholic Children’s Society (Westminster); and Kingsbury High School which received a grant of £15,000 for a psychotherapy project with Brent Centre for Young People.
