We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for campaigning for this new post. You would be running an innovative new project, which will use data collected by a variety of Voluntary Sector organisations to influence statutory bodies. University College London (UCL) will process the information to produce reports on emerging themes and issues, which the Voluntary Sector bodies can then use to run focused and well thought through campaigns.
The post holder will chair a group of Voluntary Sector representatives from across the London Borough of Ealing, helping them to identify and prioritise the reports from UCL. He/ she will assist with planning and developing campaigns, including the training of the representatives, and providing support and resources when he/ she meets decision makers. He/ she may organise events, activities and liaise with the media to raise awareness of issues.
All in all, this is an interesting and absorbing job and, although part-time, it will really make a difference in the lives of vulnerable people in these times of austerity and support cuts. You will need to be educated to ‘A’ level or beyond and have good IT and computer skills, including advanced Excel and data management. You will be an excellent communicator, with both verbal and written skills, good interpersonal skills. The ability to deal with a diverse range of people would be ideal. Experience of leading or being involved in campaigns would be helpful.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required.
Salary: £28,000 FTE, pro rata + optional pension ‘opt-in’ after 3 months
