Invitation: Information gathering sessions with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, Ms. E. Tendayi Achiume, will undertake an official country visit to the UK from 30 April to 11 May 2018 at the invitation of the Government.

The Special Rapporteur will start her fact-finding mission in England and namely London, before proceeding to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

If you are interested in meeting the UN Special Rapporteur on racism and sharing information with her, please RSVP to this email (racism@ohchr.org) no later than Wednesday, 25 April. Kindly use the subject line “Civil society meetings London- UK visit of the SR on racism” and include the following information:

  •  Name of individual attending
  • Job title
  • Organisation
  • Direct contact details
  • Meeting(s) you would like to attend

Due to limited space, please kindly note that we are only able to accommodate one representative per entity/organization. The Special Rapporteur also welcomes and strongly encourages the participation of community representatives and youth. Subject to the available space, stakeholders may be represented at more than one meeting relating to their work. Please indicate your preference as well as any additional meetings you/your organisation may wish to attend. Spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Detailed information on the modalities of each meeting will be shared with all confirmed participants.

Written submissions of information are strongly encouraged before, during and after the mission and can be sent to racism@ohchr.org.
