£24,000 per annum (37.5 hours per week)

We are proud to announce that we have recently secured new funding to expand our services for carers across Central London.  We are now seeking excellent candidates to join our growing and dynamic team of Carers Caseworkers.

Three out of five people become an unpaid carer at some point in their lives, looking after a family member or friend who couldn’t manage without them because of an illness, disability, mental health problem or an addiction. Most do so without help or recognition.

The successful candidates will support this hidden army by providing a confidential listening ear and one-to-one information and advice, including carrying out carers assessments and creating individual support plans, tailored to each carer’s needs. They will also develop excellent working relationships with partner organisations, to raise awareness of carers’ rights and needs.

Based in our Westminster office, with significant work remotely in the community, primarily in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham or London Borough of Westminster.

The ability to speak a community language would be advantageous.

Kensington & Chelsea Social Council (KCSC) is providing support to voluntary organisations who, in turn, are supporting residents who have been affected by the Grenfell Fire.

The context in which these organisations are operating changes often and the support they require is still emerging. However, it is clear to KCSC that we have a role to play in helping to maintain stability for the sector, support a culture change in community engagement and strengthen collaborative approaches in rebuilding the community.

You will have a deep understanding of the role that the voluntary and community sector plays within civil society and practical experience of working with communities on the ground. You will need to be resilient and show empathy and an understanding of the issues facing voluntary organisations and the community which includes those traumatised by the fire. At the same time, you will need to be able to base the work on evidence and within the context of what is already being done by others so that you can make the best use of your time.

1x CLINICAL DIRECTOR  –  Salary £33,000 – 36,000 per annum
This role presents a challenging opportunity for a motivated, qualified and experienced psychotherapist to join a small staff team, reporting to the Board of Trustees.  The role is newly created at the request of the Board to provide the necessary emphasis for clinical excellence for all clients supported by Help Counselling and to lead, supervise and manage a team of approximately 55/60 volunteer counsellors in the provision of short and long-term counselling contracts and a team of 10 supervisors.  The Director will be responsible for managing safeguarding issues.   This role will also lead and manage the relationships with GPs and other healthcare providers in the community where clinical expertise/liaison is required. The role holder will maintain existing relationships with other local organisations and charity groups and develop new ones.

Advance Domestic Abuse Team delivers nationally accredited, quality marked services in Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea. We work within a coordinated partnership response to domestic violence to provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people and women’s community services for women who are involved in the criminal justice system, in anti-social behaviour or are at risk of breaking the law.

The new GDPR comes in to effect in May 2018. Its main provisions are to:

  1. impose new requirements to collect, store and process individuals’ personal information, with significant financial penalties for non-compliance.
  2. place an increased emphasis on accountability and transparency so you should ensure that you have up-to-date records relating to the personal data that they hold, including where the data came from and who it has been shared with.
  3. review any privacy notices you have in place.
  4. identify any ‘lawful basis’ for processing activity within the GDPR, record this and update your privacy notices accordingly. The GDPR will modify some individuals’ rights, depending on the lawful basis. If you use consent as your lawful basis for processing, clients will have a greater right to have their data deleted, if they so wish.
  5. ensure that adequate security systems are in place to protect data, and to detect, report and investigate any data breaches.

As a partner in the award winning Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA), Standing Together Against Domestic Violence (STADV) seek to appoint a dynamic DAHA Development Coordinator for Private Landlords to develop best practice to address domestic abuse in the private rented sector.  We are seeking a coordinator with a proven track record in project development and management within a partnership context.

STADV coordinates the ground breaking coordinated community response to domestic violence in West London.  STADV are co-founders, alongside Peabody and Gentoo, in DAHA which was founded in 2014 to promote better practice, policy and research in relation to housing and domestic abuse.

This post will initiate and implement a range of activities to promote best practice to safely address domestic abuse within the private rented sector.

The post will be based either in STADV London office or if more suitable to the applicant, the offices at Gentoo in Sunderland.   National travel will be required. Part time, job share and secondments are welcome to apply
